Director, ERP Program

    Job Summary:

    This position has overall responsibility within the GSC Information Technology team to manage and monitor the daily activities associated with the company’s Business and Information Technology’s transformation program. This position will be expected to insure that the company’s two transformation initiatives are effectively aligned and managed to meet the overall goals of each. This position will provide project visibility and direct oversight to all levels of management throughout the company, including the company’s board.

    Position Scope:

    Program Management

    • capable of leading a program with multiple projects, project managers and project leads.
    • Accountable to executive sponsors for schedule, budget, and quality of all program elements.
    • Manages overall program and directly responsible for the escalation of decisions to executive sponsors as necessary.
    • Leads / facilitates high-level sessions for the development of the overall program plan and schedule.
    • Reviews/approves project plans for conformance to program strategy, program plan and schedule.
    • Capable of developing and taking responsibility for the overall project Execution, including the development of all projects ranging from small to complex projects.

    Leadership

    • Experience in managing and executing projects with a budget > $100 million.
    • A proven Leader in the Wholesale / Retail industries.
    • Leads and motivates project team(s) to obtain desired behaviors and results.
    • Capable of managing other project managers.
    • Leads by example with integrity and candor.

    Technical Capabilities

    • Proven experience in ERP Management and in Construction Management.
    • Has solid ERP implementation experience and capable of providing leadership to various project managers supporting the execution of the overall program effort.
    • Has extensive experience in the successful management of risk through the appropriate application of resources to arrive at the most optimum approach, mitigating problems and exploiting opportunities.
    • Proven ability operating in a detailed environment. Has the ability to uncover root cause to problems while analyzing solutions, ultimately making recommendations and setting direction.

    Relationship Management

    • Can facilitate development of relationships through the use of candor and objectivity.
    • Can carry on negotiations with vendors and internal customers while maintaining focus on the contractual requirement and companies strategic objectives.
    • Leads proposal efforts for large and complex domestic and/or international projects.

    Communications

    • Acts as the communications conduit to executive sponsors and program steering committee and conducts periodic briefings/status updates.
    • Capable of leading formal presentations to the company’s board, executive management, vendors, and customers.

    Essential Functions of the Job: (% of Time)

    • Manages day-to-day strategic project deliverables that cover all facets of the overall plan, including phases such as: Requirements, Design, Technical Integration, Construction, Conversion, etc. Provides frequent communications to executive sponsors, internal and external customers. (50%)
    • Provides program and project guidance to a team of business and technology professionals engaged in the company’s strategic initiatives. (30%)
    • Other responsibilities, including: (20%)
      • Provide leadership to staff and project initiatives
      • Participate in developing, managing, and controlling program budgets as required
      • Participate in tactical and strategic planning as required
      • Work with other team members and business partners to prioritize, schedule and communicate project requirements and deliverables
      • Comply with GSC policies and procedures

    Performance Measurements

    Required:

    • Education: Bachelor degree in Business or Computer Sciences or related education. Will consider significant relevant experience in lieu of degree.
    • Experience: 10+ years in Project Management / Business Transformation experience
    • Certifications / Other: PMP, MS Office

    Preferred:

    • Education: Master degree in Business or Computer Sciences
    • Experience: 15+ years in large scale ERP implementations within the Wholesale / Retail industries
